Today we had the pleasure of visiting with Auntie Carmen and Auntie Antonia from Connecticut. They are my godmother’s daughters who I consider my aunts, mentors, and confidants. I remember their reactions to the news of my pregnancy. We talked about that today as we sat around our round table. We basically talked motherhood with my Mom and Madrina Socorro. As soon as I brought down the baby, the cameras started clicking away.
It was surreal to see both of them holding my baby. I remember loving to hang out with Carmen and Antonia because they were old enough to take care of us but young enough to understand what we were going through as kids and teenagers. I remember staying at there homes as kids before they even had kids. We talked about how I made an hand gesture at Carmen’s wedding when my mom was telling me to walk down the aisle.
What I loved most about today was that they all showered by daughter with love, hugs, and lots of kisses.
